An Angel Comes to Abishek

On a peaceful afternoon at the Divine Lineage Center, it was my turn to do Baba’s Abishek. I felt blessed to have the opportunity to spend some time alone with Baba washing and singing to him. It was early spring of 2015 and the center was quiet. There were no arrivals or departures that day and no one working outside. It was pin-drop silence.

Earlier in the day, I was playing around with my iPad filming myself. When I started the Abisheik, I thought why not film the process? I was having fun experimenting. I turned on the iPad camera which was placed on the window sill opposite of Baba and began pouring water and chanting. I remember the moment I took my hands from Baba, as I poured the water on his head, I felt so much love in my heart. Once the Abishek was complete, I turned off the camera and went about the rest of my evening. Later when I looked at the footage, I was shocked to see a little light come into the frame. I couldn’t wrap my head around what I was seeing, there was no one around at all, nothing that could have made that light appear.

When I looked closer I realized that it occurred at the moment that I had taken my hands off of Baba and poured the water over his head, which was the same moment I felt my heart open and fill with love. It occurred to me that a divine gift had been captured on film, an angel had come to Abishek.

I wonder how many angels are around us all the time, we just don’t always have the good luck to catch one on camera.
